Queen of Apostles College, Eluru

PIME, which was meant only for Italian Missionaries, has taken a historical decision at the X General Assembly held at Tagaytay, Philippines in 1989. In this Assembly PIME was considered for International Missionary Society and opened the doors in India for recruitment and Formation of PIME missionaries. As a result the first seminary structure took place under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Benito Picascia, the then Regional Superior of PIME, at Eluru, Andhra Pradesh in the form of Queen of Apostles’ Seminary.
Queen of Apostles’ Seminary was inaugurated on 20/10/1992. The first batch of students arrived in the month of June 1992 to do their “Orientation Programme.” We select the candidates from all over India by conduction Vocation camps for those who completed either S.S.C, or Inter or Degree. They are in this seminary for a year to improve their skills in English and to learn preliminary things about PIME society, Basic Catechism and Priestly life. After this one year of Orientation Programme, the seminarians do their further secular studies and philosophy, theology.

This seminary has been nurturing many candidates for more than 33 years and has produced 57 missionaries who are working in different parts of the world spreading the gospel among non-Christians which is the charism of PIME.
